Trips and itineraries
Creating and editing a trip
Add a trip from the Trips tab. To change its name, destination, dates or description later, tap the trip's header. You can also set a cover photo or delete the trip from the same screen.
Adding to the itinerary
Open a trip and use the add button. Kestreli handles flights, lodging, car hire, rail, cruises, transit, activities, notes and anything else you want to record. Flights have their own flow so Kestreli can track them — see Flight tracking.
Your itinerary is always shown in time order, whatever order you added things in.
Check-in and check-out times
A hotel or rental can carry both a start and an end time, and the card shows them side by side — check-in on one side, check-out on the other. Times are shown in the local time of the place they belong to, so a flight leaving Pittsburgh shows Pittsburgh's clock and a hotel in London shows London's.
When a segment falls outside your trip dates
If you add or edit something that starts before your trip begins or ends after it finishes, Kestreli offers to extend the trip's dates to fit. It always asks first, and you can decline and leave the dates as they are.
Costs
Any segment can carry what it cost, in the currency you paid in. Set your home currency in Profile and Kestreli converts everything into it for the trip total, using European Central Bank reference rates. Each item still shows the amount you actually paid.
If two items share a booking reference — the two legs of one return ticket, for example — Kestreli counts that booking once rather than twice, and tells you it has done so.
Cover photos
Kestreli picks a photo for well-known destinations automatically. You can choose your own instead, from the trip's edit screen. A photo you choose is stored on that device only; it is never uploaded.
Sharing a trip
The share button turns a trip into a PDF you can send or print. Two switches control what goes in it:
- Include booking references — off by default, so confirmation numbers stay out of a document you might forward on.
- Include costs — on by default; turn it off to share an itinerary without prices.
The PDF is produced on your device. Nothing is uploaded to make it.
